UAV

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is a machine which functions either by the remote control of a navigator or pilot (drone) or autonomously.

There are a wide variety of UAV shapes, sizes, configurations, and characteristics. Historically, UAVs were simple drones but autonomous control is increasingly being employed in UAVs. UAVs come in two varieties: some are controlled from a remote location (which may even be many thousands kilometers away, on another continent), and others fly autonomously based on pre-programmed flight plans using more complex dynamic automation systems.

The Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) market has witnessed a meteoric growth over the past decade.  Like in traditional aircrafts, air speed information and altitude are critical information to be supplied by the computers to the system. Payload and size are also two critical aspects of UAVs as they directly contribute to the performance of the device in operations.

MEMSCAP pressure sensors and transducers address these applications due to their small fit factor, and excellent stability and reliability.
